So I Did A Thing...

So, I did a thing and started a blog. In creating this blog, I hope to tackle controversial issues head-on and discuss them in the context of the Christian world view.

Of course, with these types of things, one can run the risk of sounding preachy or writing from the prospective of superiority. This is not my hope. I wish to consider different viewpoints and ultimately come to a responsible conclusion.

If you know me personally, you probably know that I typically fall somewhere in the middle in most controversial topics. In a world filled with social media in which “picking a side” is celebrated and supported, I hope to be a breath of fresh air. Or at the very least, offer a different perspective that is usually unrepresented. I humbly ask that you follow me on this journey as I ask some hard questions, and hopefully, provide answers that are pleasing to God and reflect Jesus Christ.

I am taking a leap of faith here because I have never been confident in my writing abilities. However, I believe that I have a lot of things to offer, and I hope this blog can have a positive impact.

I hope to upload a new blog every Friday afternoon. My prayer is that this can be a fruitful experience coupled with healthy dialogue. Below are a few of the blog topics that I wish to cover in the coming weeks:

Is sex before marriage okay?

#Roads: Is our call-out culture working?

Is it okay to work twice as hard: A minority perspective

Is it okay for Christians to indulge in alcoholic beverages?

As with all my blogs, this is solely my opinion. I do not want to pretend to have the absolute “right answer.” I am speaking to myself as much as I am speaking to others. It is okay to disagree with me, and I welcome discourse. My only request is that every word of each blog is weighed heavily and considered before agreeing or disagreeing with the points presented in each entry. Please keep in mind that I am a Christian, so my beliefs and opinions will be influenced by my faith. I will upload blogs every Friday.
